There will be a Hallows & Horcruxes Ball on March 8th at Kansas State University in Manhattan, Kansas. All proceeds will be donated to First Book (http://www.firstbook.org/), whose mission it is "to give children from low-income families the opportunity to read and own their first new books." Performing are: The Remus Lupins, Ministry of Magic, The Parselmouths, The Moaning Myrtles, The Mudbloods, and Ginny and the Heartbreakers. This event is hosted by the K-State Children's and Adolescent Literature Community, the K-State Department of English, and others. For more details go to: myspace.com/ksuchalc (http://www.myspace.com/ksuchalc)
Tickets are not yet on sale, but it looks like the ball will be 7-11pm, dress is casual, and the tickets will likely be free for KSU students and less than $15 for everyone else.
[I'm not officially involved with this activity, just helping to spread the word. My contact person is Karin Westman (westmank@ksu.edu). She is teaching the very popular "Harry Potter's Library" class at KSU this semester.]
